PASCO YARD I have just revised Pasco Yard based upon feedback from the first op session last November. Objectives are 1) Reduce the number of signals needed to only what is barebones and no more than what is already in place. They will just be moved. I will use TWC for authorization to Walla Walla and Salmon Bay/Yakima 2) Integrate interchange siding into Pasco Yard so DS no longer controls that siding, just access in and out of yard. 3) Enable Express cars to be switched out by Passenger train power without having to move the passenger cars around station. In other words, westbound train comes in and stops at station then can do its switching while passengers and baggage are exchanged. East bound trains come in and stop before arriving at station and do their switching then proceed to station. This scenario will briefly tie up the main unless Pasco local (read yard job) gets his rear end over to help out and stash any cars temporarily in storage track in which case the passengers can be exchanged whilst express cars exchanged..(Guess we better have a sharp guy running the Pasco Local). Yard engine stashed over on spur by oil company (not on schematic at moment) when not in use. Note that there are 2 "redundant crossovers from Main to either side. These area legacy switches which may be removed later but I want ot get some additional op experience first. They could be useful for Local switcher to get over from one side to the other. He will still need DS authority, but the travel distance is shorter. I know my DS will not be happy so we will see how it goes.
