Down the Helix to Salmon Bay A/D Tracks
Approaching Salmon Bay Yard from Howard Helix.

This is a Flash presentation of photos of the new industrial area being worked on. It lives below Walla Walla and is accessed via the Howard Helix using an Atlas #5 turnout and Tortoise motor.

There are 2 industries and a car ferry (from SeaRails) I have not yet tied track down nor built scenery.

The Howard Helix is installed and trains are running up and down the hill. Still need a few little detatils for complete, like additional lead wiring. The Helix is about 80 linear feet long and opens down onto Salmon Bay Arrival - Departure Tracks.

I used Kato track for this part of the yard when I first built the module because it was easy, movable and worked with the correct rail height. There are also 2 additional stagin tracks on either side for storage of cars or trains if necessary.

The first and second trick of the Salmon Bay turn along with the Yakima/Pasco Flyer and other extras will run regularly, thus keeping one yardmaster very busy.
